Happy Birthday Cy!

Cy Alexavier Dominguez was born on June 29^th, 2004 at 5:03am Weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces & 20 ¾ inches.

Wow! Four years old. There is never a dull moment in our home with Cy. He loves tools. He loves to replace batteries and try to screw/unscrew things. He always wants to help. Whether it's helping me with the dishes, vacuuming, pulling weeds or helping dad fix cars, he is almost always willing to give a hand. He also likes to go outside and get his little golf clubs and hit some balls. (Just like dad) He likes to play Playstation 3 and Wii and play on the computer. Our family would be incomplete without Cy.

10 Fuel Tips

Find the cheapest gas station close to you by putting in your zip...

1. Change your air filter regularly. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, replacing a dirty air filter can improve your gas mileage by up to 10%. At 4.09 per gallon of gas that could mean up to $8.00 of savings every time you fill your tank!
   


2. Old, dirty and worn spark plugs are prone to misfire, reducing fuel efficiency as much as 30%.
   


3. Keep your tires properly inflated and balanced. This can improve fuel economy by up to one mile per gallon. Depending on the size of your fuel tank that can mean an extra 20 miles per tank!
   


4. Tighten your gas cap. According to allfastcars.com, 147 million gallons of gasoline evaporate each year because fuel caps are damaged, loose or missing. So when you finish fueling, be sure to tighten the cap.
   


5. Avoid aggressive driving. Speeding, rapid acceleration, and hard braking can lower your gas mileage by 33%. Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph. Each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an additional $ .10 per gal of gas.
   


6. Use the vehicle manufacturer's recommended grade of motor oil. You can improve your gas mileage by 1-2 percent.
   


7. Avoid excess idling. Idling gets zero miles per gallon. Additionally your vehicle uses more gas to idle than it does to restart the engine. So if you plan to sit for an extended period of time, turn your engine off.
   


8. Heavier vehicles require more energy to move, so carrying around excess weight will affect your mileage. Empty your trunk of all unnecessary items. An extra 100 pounds of weight in your trunk will reduce your vehicles fuel economy by 1-2 percent.
   


9. Don't bother topping off when filling up your car's gas tank. The additional gas has the potential to leak out if overfilled.
   


10. Don't pay more for premium grade gasoline if your vehicle does not require it. The more expensive gas will cost you more money without boosting performance or fuel economy.

I Survived!

Some of you might know this already but just in case I am Second Counselor in Primary at our new ward, Crystal Gardens. We just had our primary activity this past Saturday on June 14^th. I was a little worried about how it would turn out… okay I'll admit it… a whole lot worried… It was a pool party to celebrate dads! Sounds fun, I know, but just thinking of 50+ kids plus their fathers ohhhh by the way it was at My house! Yes, I was a lil scared about the whole thing but I am glad to say that everything went fine. The kids had a blast swimming and playing on the big water slide. We had hotdogs, chips and watermelon for them to snack on.

Under Construction…

We rearranged our whole house. It felt like we were moving in all over again. I didn't realize how much we had in just two rooms.

We bought a pool table and put it where our living room was. Our living room is now where the computer desk used to be.

The computer desk is now upstairs in the loft. I got the downstairs organized but the loft still needs lots of work.

(Thank you to Keith for helping Carlos and I move everything.) I am still trying to get use to the set up. I don't mind the pool table being up front.

I'm not any good but I like playing. The back room is the one that is taking me some time to get use to.

Look… I Cut My Hair!

I cut my hair every two to three years and donate it to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a program that makes wigs for children who need them. I think this a great program if you have 10 inches to spare (It is a minimum of 10 inches) and if you don't have a husband like mine. Carlos does not like me to cut my hair but what can I say it's for a good cause…

Summer Is Here…

Carlos is a pretty good swimmer. He out swims me!

Field Day!

The kids had a blast playing games and getting wet!

They played dodgeball in the sprinklers...
They got to get on a water slide, water tunnel , play tug of war, the girls won twice:) way to go girls! They also had a dunk tank and tried to soak the teachers.

Carlos did great this past year in 4th grade. He had straight A's and was in gifted class. He will be entering the 5th grade and will be in a higher level Math & Reading class. We are so proud of him!
