**Wish Me Luck**

On Tuesday 11th I will be returning back to work. My sis inlaw told me about a position at her job that would work out perfect for me so I had to type up a quick resume and I interviewed last Monday and was given a job offer on Friday. I start tomorrow. I will be working for a medical billing co. (NHI) I will mostly be in the mail room scanning, mailing, renaming files, data entry and light phones during lunch hour. I will be working M-F 9:30-2:30. No Weekends! Yay! I get to still drop off the kids and pick them up. There hours are 8:30-3:30. So it works out perfectly! I'm a little nervous. It's been a lil over 5yrs since I last worked. I really enjoyed staying home with Cy but with him in school I thought it would be nice to wk part time and still be a fulltime mom.
PS.
Carlos (husband) is really excited about his xmas gift this year :)

First Day of School

Cy's first day of school....
before I get to that let me tell you...I have been dreading this day for months! I kept worrying about what was going to happen. For all those who know Cy, know that he does not like changes or new enviroments or new faces. I have stayed home with him for five years so maybe that didn't help out much because he is not use to meeting strangers. Even at church you've might of heard him screaming when it's time to go to class. Even though he knows the routine sometimes he just has (what I like to call them) a Cy moment! (**Sigh**)

Well we have been talking to him a lot that when he turns 5 he will be a big boy and go to school like his brother. So when he did turn five in june he was excited! He kept asking how many days til he goes to school. We kept talking about school and all the things he will get to do like drink chocolate milk Everyday! So last week we went to Open House at the school and we met his teacher. He seemed to like her he didn't hide behind my leg or have a "Cy moment". I talked with the teacher and asked her worst case scenerio if Cy has a "Cy moment" scream and yell what would she like me to do just continue to leave or stay with him to calm him down... she said to continue to leave... that he would be alright she has dealt with criers and screamers before. I didn't feel any better. We went shopping, got new shoes and haircuts. He was so excited all weekend I kept telling him "you know mom isn't going to stay with you right" and he would say "I know" but I just couldn't believe that it was going to be that easy...
Sooooo Monday morning was their first day of school. I woked him up to get ready. No problems. We got to the school. No Problems. The teacher invited all parents to stay for a book reading with the kids so I sat down the book is called "The kissing Hand" (you have to read this book) still no problems. I got teary eyed during the story. The teacher than gave all the students a sticker heart on thier hand and than all the parents a sticker heart. She told all the children to make sure that they kiss thier moms hands and cy gave me this look like yea right you know I'm not going to kiss your hand... so I gave his a big kiss and told him that I would leave mine on all day and think of him! Still no problems.Than it was time to give hugs and say bye. I gave him a great big hug and said okay bye I'll see you later... and cy said bye! with no problem! I walked away looked back to see if he was looking at me walk out and nope he was fine! I was soooooooooo shocked I was filled with different emotions. I was proud that he was such a big boy and I was happy that there was no problems but I was a little sad that he didn't have any problem saying bye!

So there you have it all the worring that I did and Cy was fine. Here we are on Wednesday and I just walk him to his door and there are still no problems!

Carlos

He is in the 6th grade this year and he has his favorite teacher for his homeroom class. He is pretty excited about that. His math class which is his favorite subject is with a teacher we are not very fond of but he has a pretty good attitude about it. He is already invited to the math competition later on in the year. He will still be a jr librarian and has already started being a teacher aid. We are so proud of him and all the things he does. He is eleven years old and soon will be twelve and just over the past few weeks we already have seen some of the transformations that happen when your kids become teenagers! His taste is changing, instead of skecher shoes he always wants and loves he decided to go with Nike this year! It starts $$$$$$$$$$$

Tempe Improv...

Last weekend me and Carlos went on a double date with our friends the Mendoza's. We saw Gabriel Iglesias. We originally had balcony seats and it was sooo packed that we couldn't find seats for all four of us. Ana told someone our problem and a few minutes later we were escorted to almost front row seating! It was great! We got to see him and a few other comedians. I really like Gabriel Iglesias he is funny without all the extreme cussing.

Slide Rock

A couple of weekends ago we went to Slide Rock up in Sedona. I thought we left the house a good time. We got there around 11:00 but I guess not early enough!

The parking lot was full so when one car left one car was allowed to go in. We waited in line for about a hour. While we were waiting we saw three emergency vehicles come and we saw the med-evac come and land in an open field to air lift someone to the hospital. We heard later that some guy who jumped off the cliff hit his head when he landed!

After a hour wait in line we finally got to enjoy the refreshing cold water!

Cy kept getting getting cold and would sit out of the water to warm up and than get back in. It was cold it took me awhile to get in all the way.

We had a nice day out.

After we had sandwiches and chips and then headed home. About 30 minutes of driving we got caught in the rain!

Out with Friends...

Last week my friend Ana took me out to see the play "Wicked" it was sooooooooooo awesome! I can honestly say that I can never watch the wizard of oz the same :) I highly recommend everyone to go see it next time it is around. They day after I saw it I checked for tickets because I wanted to take my mom to go see it but they were all sold out! I can see why you got to get the tickets months and months in advance.

On Tuesday I took Lil Carlos to go see Harry Potter at the midnight show. It was really good. I thought it was going to be really really packed but it actually went pretty well for us. Ana and her son came with us as well and we got some good seats and we only waited a little over a hour.

Museums

We have been taking advantage of the Cuture Pass this summer.

We've gone to ...

The Natural History Musuem...

Children's Museum

and the Arizona Science Center.

Cy's Favorite is the Children's Museum he really enjoyed the kitchen. It's hard having my boys ages so far apart on things like this because this museum was too babyish for Carlos. Carlos' favorite was the Arizona Science Center and Cy didn't like that one very much because we walked around reading things and Cy just didn't get it. I've always enjoyed the Science Center but the day we went they were having problems with the A/C so it started hetting hot and towards the end we just kind of looked really fast. They both like the Natural History Museum but Cy is a little scared of dinosuars. I had to keep assuring him that they were fake. Cy's favorite part was panning for the gold. That was the worst part for me... my i touch fell in the water!! :(

P.S thanks for the tips on your blog Hillari. You where not exaggerating you have to be there before the libray opens and it is a little bit stressful trying to grab the ticket you want. Cesear Chavez library isn't bad but we tried the one on Encanto once and people not just kids but adults were pushing thier way through... I have learned that you can check online the night before to see what library has the pass that you want.

Birthday Party

Cy's birthday party...
This year Cy wanted to have a pool party with his friends and he insisted that we have fruit and mac n cheese to eat, he even designed his own cake. My friend Ana made the cake and Cy got to put all the finishing touches on.

This years party was so much easier usually we go all out but Cy's way was so much easier and he had such a great time...

Jewelry Show

My sisters' friend Lucy hosted a jewelry show for my sister. My mom, aunt and I were invited to bring along our jewelry also to sell. I really wish I remembered to take pictures of it but I forgot to. I was so worried about other things. All last week I worked on making new jewelry and I didn't realize how exhausting it is after a couple of days of it my creative juices weren't flowing. I was staying up til 1 -2 in the morning trying to finish stuff up. Overall the show went really well. I made some money which is always good. but it also felt good to know that other people enjoyed my creations.
Here are some pieces that I have left and a few others that my family made...

This one my sis gave to me. The color represents ovarian cancer.

This one I made. It is my favorite right now.
I call it my "Happy Bracelet"

My mom gave this one to me. It has real onyx.

My aunt gave this necklace to me. you can;t see the color very well in the pic. but I love the cranberry/promegranate color it has.

.
This one is a set that I made
This is one that I finished at 2:00 in the morning and I just noticed today that it is lopsided so I will have to redo it. (you can't tell in the pic.)
This one is different than the others.
This bracelet I made also.
Anyways, I don't wear much jewelry myself but I love creating these pieces even if it's not for me or even my style I just like making them.

Swiming

Many people are surprised that even though we have a pool we do not go swimming everyday. We go swimming once a week maybe twice.
But when we do the boys always have fun!

Camping

We went to Bear Lake Canyon in May. This was Cy's second time camping. (The first time he was almost a year) We went with my sister and her family and a couple of her friends and their husbands. The weather was perfect.

Before the trip, we bought lil Carlos his first rifle. The guys really enjoyed shooting their guns.

Searching for a good spot

Carlos getting ready to shoot his gun

Justin shooting

Carlos finally got me to shoot his gun. I was scared I was going to shoot myself so I made him stand behind me and hold my arms to just make sure somethinf crazy didn't happen. I only shot twice but that was enough for me.

Cy wasn't to happy about the loud noise. I should of got an after picture it would of been of Cy crying.
The second time the guys went shooting Cy decided to stay at the campsite and play with his toys.

My Bro-inlaw and Carlos went fishing.
Me and the boys sat around watching them. I tried fishing for a little bit but I caught no fishies. My Bro-inlaw caught a couple.

My sister and her friends went hiking around the whole entire lake it took them about 2 1/2 hours. I stayed behind with the boys. There is no way I would of made it. On their hike they actually saw snow!

We had a good time... it's always nice to just get away... but for me by Sunday I was excited to get home to my wonderful shower and flushing toilet and my nice comfy bed.
