First Week Of School
This was a crazy week… Carlos started school on Monday. August 4th. The parking lot and the drop off area at school have been crazy! Carlos started the 5th grade. He's pretty excited about this year. He thinks it's going to be a good year! He likes how they switch classes for every subject. I've met all his teachers and they all seem pretty nice. I know who his favorite teacher will be, Mr. White, who is his math teacher. Carlos's best and favorite subject is math. He is also trying to become a Junior Librarian…
Cy is still home with me for another year. I don't know who is happier, me or him. I tried to see if he can get tested to enter head start but he does not qualify. So, he is home with me for one more year. I get one year to ease myself into knowing that both boys are growing up. I get sad when I think about them getting big, no longer babies. Me and Carlos are not planning on having any more children so this is it Cy is the last baby and it's hard for me to let go. I know I know… They will always be my babies but I think once they are in school that's it, they are out in the world and you no longer can protect them the way you do when they are at home with you…

Sounds like Carlos is going to have a good school year. What's a junior librarian? I know what you mean, I get sad thinking about Sareny starting kindergarten next year too...
Junior Librarian is were they help out before/after school and sometimes recess time to help put away books and put paper in all the printers and help the librarian out with whatever else they need help with also when they have a book fair he will help out with the set up. The school also has a reward store with lil prizes that the kids can buy with bucks that they have earned from various good beahavior from the teachers so he will also help out the store... He had to write a short paragraph about why he would be a good junior librarian and the school will choose one kid.. so we'll see....
That's so cool! I would have loved to do that when I was younger.
When are they announcing their choice?
He's so grown up! What a good big brother for Cy to look up to.
i am glad you found my blog. i feel like i have been so out of touch. i know how you feel about cy being home. i will be sad when alice goes off to school. she does preschool but it is only a couple hours of day for three days. anyway i will be checking your blog out now. hopefully i will be at church soon. have to take advantage of the situation and stay home a little while. :)
