Field Trip

I'm a couple of weeks late (no not that kind of late :) but I thought I would do a post on it anyway. A couple of weeks ago (Nov. 18th) I went with Carlos on a field trip to the Arizona Science Center. I have went to every field trip except one (it was hiking and I have a bad knee so my mom went for me) since Carlos has started Kindergarten. I really enjoy them. I get a look at his life outside of home. Their class went to the library before the fieldtrip and I got to see Carlos in action as a Junior Librarian.
He checked in the books and than he assisted the class on learning a new program the library has to help the kids find books using the computer. It was a proud moment for me to see him take on a leadership role.

Anyway back to the fieldtrip. The kids loved the Forces of Nautre show. They got rained on and felt high winds from a tornado and heat from a forest fire. Their was a lot that they learned. Me and Carlos even read about our reproductive organs and how a baby is born. (We went through this a few years ago.) He said that even though he knew about all of it and that he know that's how it happens he said it was still pretty gross when we looked at the pictures. When we came out Carlos told a buddy to go in there and the boy went in and quickly came out. They thought the mucus shooting out a huge nose and a pimple grow and explode was much more interesting. Even though when I chaperone and have five kids in our group I really enjoy the time me and Carlos get to spend with each other. I don't know how many more fieldtrips Carlos will want me to go to. I know one day he'll get to that stage where he is to old to want mom around but until that day I will always take these opportunities to be a part of His life and treasure them...

You are such a great mom. Carlos will treasure these memories forever. They may get older and act like they don't want their mom, but secretly they always do :)

Charlene is right. Carlos will always remember the fun he had with you. And my nephew is almost 17 an still loves his mom to go on trips with him.

I missed this post earlier! What a fun outing. I can't believe that you have been able to do every field trip with him. That is pretty cool. Looks like fun!
