Right after Thanksgiving it is a tradition of mine to put the Christmas tree up. Cy has been so excited about Christmas. Both the boys helped put the decorations on the tree. Cy started on the bottom Carlos the middle and I did the area that they couldn’t reach. The next day I set up my village. Cy was very disappointed that he couldn’t help out. A couple of days after that I put up our outside decorations. I was very disappointed this year. The house lights that we just bought last year did not work! So I was without house lights this year. So we just had our deer’s and lights on our bushes. I was a little sad but it still looked festive

December 4th was our 4 year Anniversary. For those who don’t know the story… Carlos and I have been together since 1996 but we didn’t get married until December 4th 2004. Carlos surprised me with a trip to the Zoo Lights. Now for most this may not sound like much but, for me it was a very sweet thing to do. Carlos is sooo not a Zoo Light kind of guy but he knew that I would enjoy it. At the last minute we had to take our boys with us. Besides Cy saying are we done yet every 5 minutes we had a nice time walking around drinking hot coco. Our favorite part is the Light Show where the lights go with the music.
We went to the Tolleson Light Parade. This was our first year going. It was a little cold but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Cy got to see Santa on the Fire truck. We got to see some friends from our old ward in the parade on their golf cars all lit up…

Big Carlos was off of work from Dec. 15th – 28th. We really enjoyed him being home. He went to bed late every night and woke up late everyday except the days he had an early golf game! During Carlos’ winter break me and the boys did our tradition of painting and decorating ornaments. On the Eve of Christmas Eve Alicia and I made tamales. We really missed Senica this year (she was working) This was our third year making tamales for Christmas and I think we are finally getting the hang of it. We always say we need to write everything down but we never do…
On Christmas Eve Cy got an early Christmas gift. A puppy! He is about 4 months old and he is a Puggle. (Pug/Beagle) It took a lot of negotiating with my husband and we came to a conclusion that he will be an inside dog since he won’t be very big. Part of the deal was that I had to get rid of my birds… I was very sad but I agreed only because they were driving my allergies nuts. I was dusting and vacuuming and cleaning out their cages and giving them spray baths everyday to try to keep their dander and feathers out of our living space but it didn’t work. I was having headaches constantly. I felt so terrible to give them up but I did and now I have fewer headaches. Call me crazy but I miss the noise they made. Anyways, back to the pup. We got him from our friends the Mendoza’s. His name is Dodger.

On Christmas Eve we had a house full. Carlos’ Dad, Martha, Camila, Senica, and Alicia came over for dinner, games and our traditional spiritual lesson. The boys both got to open one gift that we pick out for them to open which just always happen to be new pj’s. Than I read a few books to them and they went to sleep. Well, they laid in bed at least and eventually fell asleep. Carlos and I procrastinated this year and we had lots of wrapping to do that night or should I say that morning. By the time we cleaned up the kitchen from dinner and wrapped the last present it was 2:30 in the morning! Next year I am having a Wrapping Party. (Never been to one but I read about it on the internet where you get together with friends everyone brings their gifts and wrapping and than you can share wrapping paper and wrap together I know I hate wrapping because it’s boring sitting in my closet hiding from the kids so I think this was a great idea so that it’s not boring and you have an excuse to get together with friends.)
Christmas morning I woke up about 6:30 to take the puppy potty. And than tried to get him back to sleep so that I can get a few more minutes of sleep. It didn’t work so I got up and started getting ready. The boys woke up about 7:00 ish and woke up Tata & Martha and Dodger woke up Senica & Camila. We opened up presents and than off to the Kitchen to make breakfast. Tamales, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes! Christmas morning I wasn’t feeling very well but I know it had to do with the fact that I only had a few hours of sleep. We spent the morning helping the kids open up their toys and place batteries in them. In the afternoon me and the boys and dodger drove to my Mother in laws so the boys could give her her gift. I also gave her my birds. I was so sad but she was happy. I know she will take good care of them. Well that about wraps it up for December…

The puppy is adorable! I forgot to look at it yesterday before I left.
Looks like the family is doing great. My friend has two puggles they are adorable but they did grow bigger than she expected. who knows? I LOVE the wrapping party idea. It is so true I also spent a good 2-3 hours wrapping gifts by myself in a secret quite place. Honestly it was quite boring I think you are a genious. Plus the paper gets old after the 5th gift. Good to hear from you. We will know where Josh's residency is in a few months. :)
Sounds like you had a great holiday. Your puppy is adorable.
